Why I Am Running to Represent Wards 1 and 7

Jad explains why he is running and what families should expect from their local school board trustee.

I am running for school board trustee because parents and students deserve a representative who listens carefully, speaks clearly and stays connected after election day.

Our schools are part of every family’s story. They shape how children see themselves, how they learn to work with others and how confidently they step into the future. When a school is doing well, families feel it. When something is not working, families feel that too.

Families deserve to be heard

Too often, people feel invited to comment only after the direction of a decision is already clear. Parents and students should have meaningful opportunities to speak before important choices are made.

I want to bring local concerns to the board table in a practical way. That means asking direct questions, following up when answers are incomplete and explaining decisions in language people can understand.

Representation should be visible

Wards 1 and 7 include communities with different histories, schools and needs. Port Credit, Mineola, Lakeview, Cooksville, Fairview and Mississauga Valley cannot be represented well from a distance.

A trustee should show up, listen and remain reachable. I will make time for regular conversations with parents and students, provide short updates after important board decisions and create clear ways for families to raise concerns.

Education for every generation

My campaign is guided by a simple idea: Education for Every Generation.

The decisions made today should support the child beginning kindergarten, the teenager thinking about what comes next, the family looking for help and the community our graduates will one day lead.

That means strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics. It means safe and healthy schools. It means real choices for students preparing for trades, college, university, entrepreneurship and careers that are still emerging. It also means transparency, because trust grows when families can see how decisions are made.

I know a trustee works as one member of a board. I am not promising that one person can change everything alone. I am promising to listen, prepare, speak up and report back honestly.
